FXCM, the retail FX and CFDs broker owned by Jefferies Financial Group, announced on Monday its appointment of Paul Gyles as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer.

In the new role, Gyles will be responsible for driving the branding and marketing strategy for the retail broker.

“I’m excited to join the FXCM team at a time of growth and expansion,” Gyles said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to driving the firms’ branding and marketing strategy, ensuring its best-in-class offering continues to stand out in a competitive market.”

He is a marketing expert and brings years of industry experience to the new role. He joined FXCM from a London-based financial services company, M&G where he was the Global Director of Brand and Digital Marketing for almost the last three years.

Additionally, he has solid working experience in the brokerage industry. He worked with IG, one of the largest retail broker bands, for close on six years as the Global Marketing Director.

Before jumping into the trading industry, he worked for Japanese technology conglomerate Sony. He joined the company as the Head of Strategic Marketing for EMEA in September 2016 and parted as the UK Marketing Director for its TV and Audio Division in mid-2013.
