L’Oreal USA has named Han Wen chief digital and marketing officer effective immediately, the company said in a statement.
According to L’Oreal USA, Wen’s role will be to lead digital transformation, including a focus on consumer insights and intelligence; digital go-to-market strategies; marketing innovation; media planning and buying; and creating a center of excellence in content and digital services.
In her prior role leading digital transformation of the L’Oreal USA’s Professional Products Division, Wen led a fivefold increase in the unit’s e-commerce business share since 2017. Previously, Wen was global chief digital officer for the L’Oreal Paris brand, and before that had spent two years at LVMH. Wen also spent nearly eight years at Clarins Group as global chief digital officer.

Wen succeeds Marc Toulemonde, who was chief digital and marketing officer role since November 2020. The company’s statement did not say what Toulemonde would be doing next, and he could not immediately be reached for comment via LinkedIn.
L’Oreal was the No. 14 U.S. advertiser in 2020, per Ad Age Datacenter’s 2021 Leading National Advertisers, with nearly $2.2 billion in all-in ad spending. The company was also one of Ad Age’s best marketers of 2021.
“Han brings deep experience and expertise to this strategic role at a time when digital is at the forefront of our business,” said David Greenberg, L’Oreal USA CEO, in a statement. “Her outstanding track record and extensive knowledge of how we can best engage with our consumers and accompany them in both offline and online environments will be critical to our success.”
